Q: How would you describe your travel style?

Maureen (mother) well thought out itinerary with some spontaneity along the way.

Amy (daughter) whatever goes! Figure it out along the way.

 

Q: Do you prefer to travel carry-on or with a regular size suitcase or bag?

Both- CARRY ON!! But it does depend on length of trip and climate.

Amy-Amazing carry-on 20’ Victorinox it’s light, expandable and fits on all kinds of airplane overhead compartments!

 

Q: Are you an overpacker or do you tend to underpack?

Both –Never, if we need something, it’s an opportunity to shop!

Q: How do you stay stylish while traveling without access to an entire closet?

Amy- scarves and lipstick (easy to pack and can be on trend)

Maureen- scarves, leggings and nice pair of boots

 

Q: What are your three must have travel essentials?

Maureen- Sanuks (comfort all the way), new apple ear buds, good moisturizer)

Amy- lip moisturizer, jean jacket, iPhone

 

Q: What destination was the most fun to dress for?

Amy-San Francisco/Sonoma last August, daytime was hot! Evenings were cool. Got to wear cute dresses and sandals and in evening wore jean jacket and scarves.

Q: What destination surprised you the most with the ways locals dressed or their type of clothing?

Amy- Guatemala the women wore incredibly tight clothes with a lot of bright colors

 

Q: What’s your preferred travel outfit on a plane?

Amy Leggings, oversized cotton tshirt, jean jacket and big scarf. (perfect for hot or cold!)

 

Q: What are you favorite travel accessories?

Amy- Scarves can dress up outfits, acts as shawl, warmth

 

Q: What are you favorite travel beauty essentials?

Amy- Stila Convertible colour (can be worn lips and cheeks)

 

Q: Do you have any specific hair or makeup products that work great for travel?

Amy- I don’t use products, bring a mini Babyliss flat iron in Germany and have used it for many trips!

 

Q: How many pairs of shoes do you travel with and what styles?

Amy- (depends style of trip greatly) flip flops for around hotel or if it’s a beach vacay, cute flats that are walking-comfortable, gladiator style sandals (hold your foot in there!

Q: Do you have any recommendation for cute and comfortable footwear?

Amy- I have had great success with a pair of Toms wedges for comfort and style (especially on cobble stone!) Wedges over heels any day!

 

Q: What was your biggest travel fashion or packing mistake?

Amy- overthinking it, it shouldn’t be stressful. We travel so often, I realize I will re-wear most of it and it’s an opportunity to shop! Clothing is way better souvenir then keychain or desk knick knack any day!

 

Q: Finally, any travel packing tips for new travelers?

Amy-Keep it simple! Make use of laundry facilities (if available), packs only items you can wear often and in multiple uses and keep similar color scheme. Luckily, black goes with everything. Jewelry, scarf and lipstick are small to pack so that’s where you bring multiple to change up looks! I’ve never said I wish I brought more.
