I am in my 40s and I find a lot of the travel photos don’t fit my style. My “eureka moment” came when I discovered Chico’s — only I actually don’t like their style either :). The eureka came from seeing Chico’s golf line – then going to my local golf shop – and then finding AMAZING, cute, flexible, breathable fabrics just like camping fabric only designed to look spiffy at a golf course, resort or trail (we’ve done all). I now use golf clothing for work too.
Athletic wear is a wonderful resource for travel clothing. Thanks for mentioning golf clothing – I’ll look into this for the future 🙂
Hi Alex,
I have been on the hunt for travel pants that zip off into shorts, similar to the olive green pair in the first photo above. Can you share where those are from, or where I could find a similar pair?
Thanks!
p.s. I love your clothing combos for minimalist packing!
Hi Hillary, you might like the ones featured in this post: https://travelfashiongirl.com/convertible-travel-pants-women-might-actually-like-i-do/

I just returned from a trip to South Africa…..many people had these and they are from the store Columbia……great fabrics and light weight.
Kathy! I love your blog, it was exactly what I was looking for on Pinterest. Where are the cargo pants from outfit #2? They seem perfect for traveling I also loved your post about hiking/backpacking outfits. Keep ’em coming! 🙂
Alex! Sorry I was watching Kathy Griffin on Ellen and that is what I started typing hahaha such a scatter brain!
hehe no worries 🙂
Hi Hilary, thanks for your comment! Glad you like the blog 🙂

Don’t worry, more coming up so stay tuned 🙂
Hope it helps!
I love your style! Where can I find the black pants?
Thanks Maria! If it’s the pair on the 3rd set, they’re from Northface…but sold out now :-(.
I have a new updated list coming out this week! Stay tuned 🙂
Your website is awesome. I will be traveling to France-Spain this May for a bike tour. The cycling part of the trip will be 3 weeks and the amount of stuff I can carry is a real issue. I will be able to pack probably 35L (counting my gear). I’m torn between being able to look nice (when I arrive at the different towns) and over packing. Still trying to figure out the essentials to pack for the 45-65 degree weather. I live in the tropics so you can imagine anything under 75 degrees is a bit unfamiliar to say the least.
Thanks Maria! I’d say one of the best ways to maximize 35L space is with ebags slim packing cubes. I use them on all my travels around the world and also used them in a 35L backpack to Spain last month and they sure helped me to squeeze “non-practical” items: https://travelfashiongirl.com/how-to-pack-for-europes-budget-airlines/
The key is to pack a couple of classic items or at least one LBD that you can wear to dress up and a pair of flats. Light ballet type flats should be great and it doesn’t matter if they’re really thin because you’re not going to wear them much on this trip. Remember, if you’re in a new town every other night no one will know you’ve been wearing the same “dress up” outfit everyday 😉
In the interview with Darcie from Trekity she mentions that the most useless thing she’s ever packed was a thick jacket to cycle through Ireland and her windbreaker and layers were enough: https://travelfashiongirl.com/interview-with-travel-pro-darcie-connell-from-trekity/
I’m from LA so I get very cold in the UK too but Spain and France tend to be warmer PLUS during May it should be sunnier which always makes you feel warmer even if the weather is below 55 degrees 🙂 have a phenomenal journey and don’t forget the sweatproof sunscreen for your face!
I’ve also asked the girls on Facebook if they have any more advice, so check the FB page to find out what they have to say: https://www.facebook.com/TravelFashionGirl
I’m really enjoying your site! Would you mind sharing your source for the Fun and Funky pants? Thanks!
Thank you! Glad you like the site 🙂
The shorts are from here: welikefashion.com/p/12293-Shorts_Co_Blue.html
Although they’re already sold out, it gives you product details. Thanks again!
Do you share the sources for the clothing? I love the black dress and black sandals . . .
Yes I do share 🙂 Many of the lists have clothing that’s already sold out unfortunately.
I don’t know the brand for the dress but I found it on crumpetengland.com. the flip flop/sandals are Havaianas. hope this helps!
I love your Classic and Fun and Funky travel outfits!! I’m thrilled I found your site and believe this will help me not only when I travel, but also in paring down my regular wardrobe, too.
