What to Wear in Ibiza: Summer
Written By: Sebrin Elms
Party girls rejoice! The ultimate party scene is alive and thriving and it’s in the middle of Mediterranean Sea. If you’re looking for some of the best sunsets, seafood, and parties of your life, it’s time to make your way to Ibiza!
If you’re traveling to Spain for vacation, read our packing list here!
Spanish and Ibiza Style
Fashion-wise, the east coast of Spain (think Barcelona), is equivalent to other fashion-forward cities in Europe. In Ibiza, pool parties, yachts, and discotheques bring some of Europe’s most fashionably dressed, but the atmosphere also brings a lot more skin, jewelry, and patterns to this exciting little island.
What to Wear in Ibiza: Summer Weather
While there’s no bad time to be in Ibiza, summer is the ultimate time to visit. August is the hottest month, although it shouldn’t get hotter than the low 80°s Fahrenheit.

You’ll find the summer nights get no cooler than the mid-60’s, so when planning what to wear in Ibiza, you might want to bring a jacket in case you’re nursing a sunburn.

Tops
Depending on the nature of your vacation, you’re going to want to split your tops between casual and dressy. You might find yourself climbing the Dalt Vila, which would require a tank or tee.
Use packing cubes to help you organize and even compress your belongings to maximize your space.
But the next day, you’ll be looking for a cute top to match with your bikini at the hottest pool party on the island.
Here are the best swimwear trends of the season!
During the summer heat, we’re partial to off-the-shoulder, cut outs, strapless, and loose-fitting tops. Whatever you choose, make sure you can match them with your swimwear, shorts, and shoes!

Shorts and Skirts
When planning what to wear in Ibiza on your summer vacation, you’re not going to need any long pants – due to your agenda and the lack of hiking on the island. One dark pair of shorts, one light pair, and a couple of skirts should do the trick.
Here’s a selection of summer rompers perfect for your warm weather travels!
Dresses
Despite the weather, you’re really only going to need a few dresses. For the day, you’ll need one or two comfortable and breezy dresses to wear. Your last two dresses you’ll use as evening wear to any night clubs, dinner, or social outings.

High/Low Dress | Paisley Maxi Dress
Cocktail dresses are pretty standard for this kind of scene, but if you’re feeling summer casual, a fancy maxi dress works just as well.
We’ve got a roundup of beautiful summer maxi dresses!
Open-Front Cardigan | Denim Jacket
Jackets or Cardigans
The weather in Ibiza throughout the summer is fairly tepid. However, all of the sun and surf is going to make for some sunburned nights.
Make sure you have something to cover up from cool nights or breezy afternoons, like a light pullover. Whether you choose a denim jacket, light cardigan, or even a nice shawl, make sure you have it handy in your bag or around your waist.

Halter Bikini Top | Mesh High Neck
Coverups and Bathing Suits
In Ibiza, the party is only as good as your bikinis. And here, you’re going to need a lot of them. If you’re hitting up the pool/beach party scene often, bring plenty of swimwear options.
We’re in love with these bra sized swimsuits!
One-Piece Swimsuit Plus | High Neck Cutout Swimsuit
You have plenty of fashionable possibilities for every party, such as one-pieces, bikinis, cut-outs, high-waisted bikinis or mesh bikinis.
Here are the best one piece swimsuits!
Cover-Up Dress | Embroidered Kimono
And when it comes to coverups, bring something that’s both functional for the weather and cute. Boho dresses, oversized tees, and kimonos are perfect for just about any occasion.
These are the best swimsuit coverups!
Gladiator Sandal | Strap Sandals
Shoes
I usually like to stick to 3 pairs of shoes (no matter what trip I’m on). Due to the limited activities and heat, most of your options should be sandals or espadrilles. These shoes will keep you cooler and are a lot more flexible for the activities you are participating in.
Check out our favorite must-have womens espadrilles shoes!
Think flip flops or gladiator sandals for the pool and beach, espadrilles for touring around the city, and strappy heels for nights out.
Here are the best sandals for travel this summer!
Accessories
When it comes to Ibiza, the more accessories the better. From sunglasses to jewelry to hats to floaties, you can use just about all of them here.
But if you’re anything like me, more accessories means more things to look out for when you’re partying. Take only the essentials, but just enough that you look fly all day and all night.
And remember to watch your belongings with a cute mini backpack or crossbody bag!
Find out why crossbody purses are the best travel shoulder bags for women!
