Looking for sustainable fashion that you can wear at home and on your travels, too? Meet Toad&Co, the ethical clothing brand that makes clothing that looks good, feels good, and travels great!

If you’ve watched Travel Fashion Talk on Facebook Live recently, you may have seen us feature Toad&Co, a line we first reviewed three years ago. In fact, they were one of the very first clothing companies featured on Travel Fashion Girl (read the original review here).

I recently received a brand new shipment of items from Toad&Co’s latest collection, which I’ll be sharing in another post. In the meantime, I want to give you a preview of all the Toad&Co items on my wishlist. Find out what they are!

Ethical Clothing: Toad&Co

ADVERTORIAL

Who is Toad&Co?

Toad&Co creates soft, comfortable, and functional travel clothes all while helping you feel awesome knowing that good decisions went into the production of your travel wardrobe.

They’re an ethical clothing brand committed to creating socially and environmentally-conscious travel garments using some of the best eco-friendly fabrics.

What makes Toad&Co newsworthy?

A portion of every sale goes toward supporting adults with developmental disabilities and 90% of their products are eco-friendly. They aim to clean up a dirty apparel industry, educate people on sustainable practices, and inspire folks to live their lives to the fullest.

Their fabrics prioritize comfort and are lightweight, making them easy to pack without adding too much weight in your luggage.

One of my favorite things about Toad&Co is that they stand by their garments. They even offer an amazing guarantee: if you don’t get a compliment within three wearings or if you find something wrong with your garment, they’ll take it back and make it right.

It’s been a few years since I last shopped their clothing and I’m very glad I’ve had a chance to get to know their collection all over again. It’s fantastic!

When shopping the website, there were so many items I wanted that it was hard just to choose a few. Here were all the items on my wishlist for the season:

Blues

One of my favorite colors to wear is blue. If you’ve ever heard the term LBD or Little Black Dress it’s actually a myth that black is universally flattering. In reality, royal blue is the best color that works well on most women and it also happens to be one of my favorite hues, too.

After being inundated in maroons and subdued colors last autumn, I was desperate to add some brighter, but pretty hues to my wardrobe. When I saw all the beautiful blue colors offered by Toad&Co this season, I went nuts! I wanted each and every piece!

Foxfern Crew SweaterFoothill Long Sleeve Hoodie

The Foxfern Crew Sweater is a proof that not every sweater is bulky, this one is relaxed for total comfort but cropped to keep things cute. A mini-rib at the hem and a shark’s tooth collar add just the right amount of flair.

After falling in love with pale greys, it was time to infuse something brighter into my wardrobe including a comfy hoodie to wear at home and for travel, too. The blue Foothill Long Sleeve Hoodie is another popular product from Toad and Co. With next to skin softness on the inside and spoon-worthy waffle on the outside, this cozy hoodie is a couch-to-campfire staple that wraps you in comfort wherever you go.

Dresses

One of the best items for travel are dresses, and Toad&Co has some seriously pretty pieces to choose from! They’re practical yet feminine. Travel clothing never looked so good!

Because of my obsession with this brand’s blue hues I couldn’t help but feature even MORE blue items in this section, too.

Make sure to read this post on how to make any dress versatile!

Bodie Quarter Zip DressManzana Tiered Sleeveless Dress

In addition to blue, they also have gorgeous reds in their color story this season, too. The Manzana Tiered Sleeveless Dress is just one example, and it’s also available in a variety of prints and colors.

Their Bodie Quarter Zip Dress looks lovely, too, and could easily work for late summer trips into autumn and spring. Breathable and never clammy (even under a winter coat), nothing beats the feeling of recycled cotton and poly blend .

Many tech clothing companies tend to choose odd cuts and colors for their dresses but Toad&Co’s ethical clothing collections feature items that would work as well on the road as they would at home, too.

Why would you want to travel with clothes you would’ve wear normally? Loving your clothing is the number one packing tip to travel lighter!

Merino Wool

TFG readers LOVE merino wool (find out why), and it’s great to find items that feature this fabric but offer a classic versus sporty look. Not only is this one of the best fabrics for travel but it’s also a non-mulesed merino wool, which means that the fibers are collected in a humane way.

Now I know I said I was trying to infuse more colors into my wardrobe, but how dreamy is the Foxfern Crew Sweater in the Dark Chino color? It looks like a closet staple that would work in just about any fall/winter capsule wardrobe. The only thing that stopped me from ordering this is that I have sooo many grey sweaters…but this could be THE ONE that’s worth adding to my ever-growing closet of sweaters.

Another great neutral, and one that could be easily layered with, is the Toddy T-Neck Sweater in Heather Grey Space Dye. Wear alone or together for a double merino wool layer.

Toad&Co is all about creating versatile yet ethical clothing and as part of their collection they offer comfortable modal/wool blends. Comfort is my number one thing when I’m traveling but it shouldn’t have to sacrifice style.

Layers

What makes the perfect airplane outfit? Easy-to-wear layers that keep you warm without the bulk. While it might seem that the thicker the sweater the warmer it will be, the reality is that garments in certain fabrics such as merino wool will keep you warm even if they’re lighter and thinner.

In this case, layers with a merino wool blend such as the ones shown here are ideal for transitional climates, such as fall or spring, and even mild winters (think Los Angeles).

Tip: Try to choose a top layer that will also be suitable to the weather in your destination.
