Travel Fashion Girl help! A reader asks:
Help! I’m trying to find some basic white sneakers I can wear with anything (dresses, jeans, etc.) that are comfortable as well, with a wide enough toe box that my feet aren’t squished. I bought some Stan Smith Boost shoes but aren’t sure if those are “the ones.” Most of the styles I’ve tried so far are either super-narrow or have no arch support whatsoever. A girl can only make (and return) so many Zappos orders. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!
Finding the perfect pair of shoes to add to your travel capsule wardrobe can seem impossible at times. Sometimes they’re stylish but not comfortable. Or comfy but unattractive. We asked our readers what white comfortable shoes they most recommend for long days on your feet. You’ll find their top picks below!

The canvas leather and removable footbed makes these easy to wash and keep them clean. It’s important to note that these run small, so you’ll want to size up at least half a size. They also have the leather style version of this shoes.
One reader shared, “Taos are awesome. They’re comfy and have great support. My feet were never tired after a day in them.” Overall, these Taos sneakers are ranked as the number one seller with our readers!
Most Popular Women’s White Sneakers: Adidas
It seems like Adidas Cloudfoam Advantage sneakers have been everywhere! From Europe to North America and just about anywhere in between, these are a classic to wear throughout the year at home and abroad.
Unlike regular flat sneakers, the Cloudfoam style boasts a cushioned insole, which many say “feels like you’re walking on clouds”. The Travel Fashion Girls Facebook Group is constantly buzzing about these shoes and they’re the top selling item on this list.

We love the color accent on these shoes, too, and several readers agree. One said, “for what it’s worth, I think I may have found ‘the ones!’
These shoes from Naturalizer have a cushioned footbed and come in a variety of sizes and widths for hard-to-fit feet like mine. At first, I didn’t like the tan with the white, but it’s growing on me–I think it helps prevent the shoe from looking too orthopedic.” Available in narrow, wide, and extra-wide sizes.
Skechers Summit Slip-On Sneaker
Comfortable White Walking Shoes: Skechers
We’re big fans of Skechers shoes, and these are no exception. This cute lace up style is a great alternative for the Go Walk shoe that don’t have laces. The FitKnit structure and breathable mesh make them so easy to wear and add texture and dimension to a classic and sporty lace up sneaker. And they come in wides sizes, too!
This style has a generously cushioned footbed and a grippy traction sole, so your feet stay comfortable and in place while walking. As one reader says, “Skechers has a pair of walking white sneakers I’ve had my eye on. The most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn are from Skechers.”
Propet TravelActiv Fashion Sneaker
White Casual Sneakers With Narrow, Wide, X-Wide, and XX-Wide Sizes: Propet
We’ve talked about Propet before, but usually we’re mentioning their amazing sandals. However, they also make a great pair of sneakers.
The TravelActiv sneakers features a TravelTek outsole that has EVA rubber, which is designed for lasting wear, cushioning, and superior comfort during long sightseeing days. With a soft and breathable nylon lining and a breathable foam footbed, these shoes will keep your feet dry and airy.
One reader says these are the best white sneakers for travel, sharing, “The most comfortable and supportive of this kind of shoe I have ever tried on or owned. Just wore these for a 6 day conference (at least 11,000 steps a day) with no problem, and I am having foot surgery next week!”
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a classic white sneakers, this Propét Karissa Sneaker is a great option!
Womens White Wool Sneakers: Allbirds
You read correctly, these Allbird sneakers are made of merino wool! A mirable fabric that is cozy and soft, doesn’t retain odors, and holds in warmth during the winter and wicks away sweat in the summer. But that’s not all, this company cares about the environment and uses green materials to make everything from the cushy midsole to the wool upper.
And many users say these are “classy looking white sneakers that look more like a shoe, but are very easy to walk in.” While this is not a shoe to wear when it’s raining, it would work well for dry days.
Vionic Aura Paisley Lace Up Sneaker
White Sneakers Womens Style with Arch Support: Vionic
TFG readers love Vionic! This orthopedic shoe brand finds the perfect balance between form and function by designing footwear that looks good while taking care of your feet, too. Comfort is everything when it comes to traveling and these supportive white sneakers fit the bill!
With concealed orthotic arch support, leather uppers, and removable microfiber covered EVA footbed, give these shoes a try if you’d love to add some sneakers to your travel wardrobe. Note that the Vionic brand tends to have a narrow to medium fit.
Superga 2750 White Sneaker | Also available on Nordstrom
Comfy White Sneakers for Low Maintenance Feet: Superga
Our readers love Supergas. Shoes like Superga wouldn’t seem like an instant choice for travel footwear, but women that do not suffer from foot issues find them to be comfortable despite the fact that they don’t have arch support. They’re most recommended for minimal to moderate walking such as leisurely seaside or cruise vacations.
One reader says, “I love my Superga Cotus. They match everything,” and another added, “These are very comfortable.” These shoes are also great for people with wide people. One reader shared, “I have a wide toe box and the Supergas had plenty of room.”

Converse All Star Ox White Leather Sneakers
Womens White Leather Sneakers: Converse
Most people have owned Converse at some point and that’s because they’re a classic sneaker. They go with everything including leggings and a tunic or dress. Wear them with denim (rolled) or a jogger, and you’ll look super trendy cute but age appropriate.
For traveling, add an insole for extra support. They do need to be broken in, and they aren’t ideal for women that need arch support or have back issues.
Leather white sneakers are easier to maintain than canvas shoes. Just clean them with a washcloth (or baby wipes) and hair conditioner – just the cheap kind from a hotel. Dab on the cloth and wipe to condition the leather while cleaning any mud off the shoes.
Dr. Scholl’s Massaging Gel Insoles
Don’t Forget About Gel Inserts!
You can create a soft and comfortable fit in many white sneakers by adding your own padding. Whether they’re boots, heels, flats, or sneakers, add a padded insole to massively increase your comfort.
Even during long promotional modeling gigs where I was required to wear high heels, I survived with specialty insoles for heels like these. For most other closed shoes, like cute black flats, I use a style like these. You can also find a large variety of insoles to meet your needs on Amazon.
Keep Your Sneakers Clean and White
Want to pack your stylish white sneakers but worried about them becoming muddy, dusty, or dingy on your trip? Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will keep your sneakers looking brand new, no matter where you are jet-setting off to! A scrubbing sponge, Magic Erasers are super light and won’t take up space in your carry-on.
Travelers love this product for keeping their sneakers looking fresh. One reader says, “I love my Magic Eraser. It keeps my sneakers looking brand new.” Sounds awesome, so there’s no need to worry about how sightseeing will ruin your sneakers!

I love white sneakers and I would love to hear opinions on how everyone wears them – with or without socks and if socks – which are your favorite “no show” ones?
Hi Suzanne, for no show socks here are some popular options recommended by our community!!! 🥰
https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/best-no-show-socks/
I have the Adidas original white women’s sleek sneaker and they are very comfortable. I’m looking forward to trying next either the Ecco soft 7 or the Cole Haan grasscourt II sneaker.
Taos for the win! Wore mine all over Europe, DC, and Disney. Go up a half size and wear with Bombas cushioned no show for clean, summer look!
Thanks for the break down! I need a new pair and this was helpful!
I took a chance on the Cloudform Advantages (got them from DSW on sale) for my 16 day trip to Italy this past June. I have problematic feet including a bunion on one foot and slight plantar fasciitis. I wanted some cute, trendy sneakers that were mostly comfy for the trip. I figured my feet would just hurt. But somehow these managed to keep my feet from hurting almost completely and would easily walk 30,000 steps / 10 miles a day.
I like my Adidas Stan Smith White sneaker
I spent the better part of 3 weeks hopping in and out of shoe stores in the quest to find the perfect white tennis shoe. I used this guide and checked out some others along the way. Landed on both the Adidas Sam Smith and couldn’t be happier! It just so happened they didn’t have my size anywhere for the Cloudfoam Advantage but as I mentioned, the Sam Smith’s were perfect.
I also scored a pair of the white Converse. I found a pair in leather that I couldn’t pass up. Converse always work for me so this was just an added bonus to add to my Chuck collection.
Thank you so much for this (and all other) blogs! It was a great guide to get me started on my Great White Shoe Search!
Any opinions on Veja sneakers? I have a trip planned to France and Italy and was going to purchase a pair for that trip, but I don’t know how comfortable they will be.
I have a pair and love them. They are meant for wide feet and very spacious. I recommend if you have wide feet.
Great list! Appreciate details like the amount of support they give and size availability.
Yes! White (and grey) sneakers are everywhere in Madrid! And I love wearing my Onitsuka Tiger sneakers with everything in Europe, Asia, and North America.
I love the Paul Green white sneakers – very comfortable and always look stylish. You can even add an orthotic because the insoles are removable. A bit pricey but they bridge the comfort and style so they can be worn anywhere!
Paul Green are by far the most comfortable sneakers I have found and I have tried (and returned) many pairs. The PG are pricey but I bought them while in Scotland but they can be ordered from there for half the price you pay in the US.
I just started wearing Birkenstock Bends. I LOVE them. I haven’t yet travelled with them but am confident that they will be comfortable for long days of walking. So glad to have found your blog! I’m keen to try some of the other brands you recommend!
Geox makes fantastic sneakers and shoes. Their slogan is “ shoes that breathe,” and their shoes are comfortable and so well crafted. I’ve done a lot of walking in my Geox Mira sneakers with no issues whatsoever. They are all leather and designed in Italy and made in the EU, so they are beautiful as well as comfortable.
I love my Cole Haan GrandPro Topspin white leather sneakers! They look great and are very comfortable. I also tried the Vionic Penelope slip-ons (white leather). Didn’t keep, but they were a close second. So many great options out there!
Thanks, Alex. I snagged a pair of the Adidas Cloud Advantage during Amazon Prime Days recently. They are great! I did add an insole to support my arch.
I’m interested in trying Skechers, looking for an all white slip on. Any recommendations as so many have come out now!
Hi Kristine, our readers rave about the Skechers Go Walks sneakers. They’re some of the most comfortable slip-on sneakers for long days of walking.
In particular, the Go Walk 3 are very popular with TFG readers due to their grip and memory foam cushioning: https://amzn.to/3ujWwya
Another much loved option is the Go Walk Joy: https://amzn.to/3Hx7NPe

I have the Cole Haans and they are super comfy and light as a feather. The lightness comes at a cost: the sole is paper thin and in Italy last year, I felt every.single.cobblestone beneath my feet.
I’d recommend sizing up half a size and getting an insert if you really want this pair for travel.
Still great for an everyday shoe.
Hi Vanessa, thank you for sharing your review of your Cole Haans sneakers with us, they sound fantastic! ?
We are going to Almalfi Coast first, then Tuscany area, Cinque Terre and back to Rome
all after September 5th. Is it still appropriate to wear white sneakers after “labour day”
Hi Dar, my biggest piece of advice when choosing what shoes to pack is to choose function over fashion. The last thing you want is to allow pulsing, injured, or tired feet prevent you from enjoying the trip of a lifetime. White sneakers are very popular in Europe at the moment and the rule of not wearing white after labour day is not practically practiced in Europe. So if you white sneakers are comfy then would be a great option to pack. For more tips to help you with your packing, check out our 10 step guide to Italy: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/10-step-packing-guides/10-step-packing-guide-italy/ I would also highly recommend that you join our TFG facebook group and post your question there about sneakers for Italy: https://www.facebook.com/groups/travelfashiongirls/ Its a fabulous community of helpful female travelers that have the best advice and recommendations to share. Hope this helps. Have an incredible trip! ?
I’m also prepping for a trip to the Amalfi coast! We are going to do a few moderate hikes including Path of the Gods so I need a sneaker that can handle a few hours of trail walking, plus a ton of stairs. From studying abroad ‘09-‘11 I definitely remember Italians stay sleek and stylish even on the trails so I want something sturdy but still fashionable. Any thoughts on which of these best fit that bill?
Hi Dayna, for tips to help you with packing for the Amalfi coast, check out this guide: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/what-to-wear-in-the-amalfi-coast/
A tennis shoe is a great alternative to slip ons or hiking shoes when you need to do a lot of walking. :woman-walking: However, it can sometimes be hard to find “light” tennis shoes that are good for walking and supportive, let alone stylish. These finds are highly popular for their comfort and style and perfect for stepping into summer: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/best-tennis-shoes/
Have the most amazing time!
I do have foot problems (RA) and burning on the soles of my feet. The best shoes for me have always featured cork soles. Very hard to find in a flat shoe or sandal. (btw Vionic slip-ons are too wide – I have a narrow heel and I walk right out of the shoe.)
Hi Susan, thank you for taking the time to share this with us. Happy travels! ?
How do you clean canvas shoes, not leather cleaning with the majic eraser. My Supra Ga white shoes need cleaned.
Susan, these cute shoes have cork soles and I love them. Comfy and stylish.
https://cariuma.com/ Here is the link.
Yikes. I commented earlier but I was referring to the Pier View sneakers. They are everything.
Hi Eboni, thank you for sharing your favorite pair of white sneakers with, always love reading about our readers favorite brands and products! Happy travels!
I find the best white sneakers are Skechers. They have great arch support and memory foam and look good. I wear them everyday at home and travelling. My favourites are the ‘On-the-Go’ but they are hard to find. They seem to have been replaced with their street style but these are not as comfortable.
I am going to France for 2 months in July and was thinking of only taking sneakers and flip flops (Aussies call them thongs) and wearing ankle boots but it is summer and wondering if I’ll wear the boots other than getting there and getting home. I don’t wear sandals as I don’t like my feet exposed to dirt. The thongs I mainly wear indoors.
Hi Pauline, thank you so much for sharing your great review of Skechers white sneakers! For more ideas about what to pack for France in the summer, have a look at these TFG posts: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/packing-for-paris-the-ultimate-summer-style-guide/ https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/what-to-pack-for-france/ Hope these help. Have a fantastic time during your trip to France! 🙂
Hi, I’m one of your blog readers, and right now I’m having a little trouble in choosing what kind of shoe should i bring to my trip. I really like white sneakers, but I’m afraid if i use my white sneakers, it would get dirty. And I’m kind of person that only bring one shoe for my trip. So could you recommend me about what kind of shoe that i should bring? Shoe that could fit in any kind of outfit.
Hi Lasmisa, thank you for your question! Nice informative post about white sneakers, I bought a pair of OTBT Normcore white sneakers (https://www.otbtshoes.com/products/normcore-white-otbt) for myself a few months back. They are also very comfortable and don’t make me feel tired even after walking in them the whole day. Also, I am in love with their looks.
Great tip!
Birkenstock sells a fabulous white sneaker in leather or canvas. It has an ample toe box and the cork footbed insole with good support. They go with everything! They are an investment for your feet. I highly recommend them!
Great tip Barb!
