Advice on the Eurorail: don’t take it if you want to travel on a budget. Stick to budget airlines like RyanAir or Easy Jet and use long distance bus transportation when possible.
I have no problem spending a little more for the Eurorail. I’d rather pinch pennies in other areas. But I will look into those airlines, for sure!

My heart and soul are ready for a backpacking adventure… all I need is a sturdy bag and some decent walking shoes. The USA’s west coast is mostly uncharted territory for this midwestern girl, and I’d love to check it out this fall. For all the “research” I’ve done, I really have no idea what adventures this trip could hold, but at least I’d know what to pack (thanks to you)… so exciting!
We’re planning a trip closer to home this summer since we have two little ones, Venice Beach FL. Sun, sand and diving for my husband:) Hope to get back to Europe when the kids are older and Australia someday!

I have been saving and planning for our upcoming trip to Europe for 2 years. This fall we will finally be going. We will be traveling through Italy for 2 weeks, with one stop in Munich, Germany. My dream backpacking trip would be to South America. I was so excited last year that I had saved enough money that I would be able to go, but then I had health problems and ended up using the money for a surgery. I am back to saving and can’t wait for one day to be able to fulfill my dream. I was excited to see this giveaway and love to read all of the travel tips you post. 🙂

My husband and I are fortunate enough to go on trips at least once a year. The first year we took a month long trip to and I brought two suitcases (not including my husband’s suitcases) Last year we bought backpacks that doubled as carry-on, and loved it! We’re going on our next backpacking vacation to Australia and New Zealand in July, and can’t wait to use some of the packing tips we found from this website!
