Hi, I’m alex! Welcome to TravelFashionGirl.com‘s online community!

We started this community as an extension of this website so we can share packing tips and help answer questions about what to pack, how to pack, and clothes/shoes to bring when you travel!

This is a free community and by participating, you are agreeing to adhere to our rules. Please read them before participating.

GETTING STARTED WITH THIS GROUP

If you’ve just joined this group, we recommend getting started with these four steps:

Ultimately, our goal is for you to enjoy being a member of this group and to share and gain advice about fashion, packing, and traveling. We work hard to moderate the group and keep it a safe and positive space for female travelers. We hope you enjoy being a part of our community!

TFG GROUP RULES

With more than 100,000 members in the original group and 50,000 members in the new 2023 group, our online communities grow daily, so to ensure the groups remain a fun and supportive space, we’ve established basic guidelines we ask members to follow for the benefit of all members.

1. There is NO advertising in this group (including the use of affiliate or referral links). People that are looking to advertise their own products or services are NOT allowed in the group. Please do not promote any commercial products or services for your company, blog, website, MLM network, referral network, etc and do not share affiliate or referral links to retailers, hotels, or cash back sites. Self-promotional or irrelevant posts will be DELETED and the user will be banned immediately. This includes blog posts and giveaways.

This is a private group for the TravelFashionGirl.com community and is not a place for you to earn money, earn free products, find new clients, find new followers, gain commission, or earn cash back.

PLEASE NOTE: As an extension of TravelFashionGirl.com, we reserve the right to share and promote our content, products, and updates within our groups, page, and all of our social media channels. This includes but is not limited to our blog posts from Travel Fashion Girl, our product line Compass Rose Travel Accessories, our Airbnb and vacation rentals, our conference Women’s Travel Fest, and select products and services from our partners. 

2. Please refrain from publishing posts to EXTERNAL websites ( including your own), memes, or viral shares. Spammers ruin the experience for everyone and if you are constantly posting content and links from other websites, it starts to feel “spammy”. Links to general travel articles will not be approved. 

3. Please remember that this group is on behalf of TravelFashionGirl.com – this is a website about how to pack, what to pack, and what to wear while traveling. Keep topics relevant to women’s travel, luggage, packing, travel outfits, travel shoes, travel purses, travel gear, toiletries, travel beauty and hair tips, and what to wear while traveling.

Posts that are off topic, including general travel questions and questions that can be answered with a quick Google search, will NOT be approved. Examples of general travel questions include hotels/restaurants/things to do or how to get a passport/currency/car rental/airport transportation/etc. There are hundreds of travel groups and sites available for general travel information. We specialize in how to pack and what to wear while traveling.

Non-travel related fashion posts will not be approved such as what to wear to a wedding, a job interview, prom, or general outfit feedback not related to travel outfits, etc.

4. Before posting a new question, please use the SEARCH bar in the group or the SEARCH bar on TravelFashionGirl.com to research your topic. There’s a good chance your questions have been asked previously.

5. Pictures that ARE ALLOWED: travel outfits before a trip, travel outfits during a trip, clothing, shoes, luggage, packing, travel gear, travel products, travel makeup, toiletries, pictures from your trip showing your travel outfit, your luggage, what you packed, etc. or anything related to travel fashion or packing.

6. We encourage POST-TRIP REPORTS, but threads with daily trip updates, travelogues, or frequent personal anecdotes will not be approved. Please don’t use the group as your personal blog or photo album. We encourage you to be present during your travels, disconnect from your devices, and enjoy the moment. Share your packing insights and destination tips summarizing everything in a post-trip report when you get home. 

7. Please keep your questions and updates in one thread. Ask all your questions about a destination in one thread. Do not post individual threads for each topic. Please use the SEARCH BAR to double check if your question has been asked previously before posting.

With the exception of post-trip reports, if you have an update based on your previous post, please include your update in the original thread instead of starting new individual threads.

8. Negativity will not be tolerated. Please be kind to others and phrase your comments in a polite manner. The goal of this group is to share our knowledge and help other travelers with our experiences. If you cannot respect others and their opinions you will be removed from this group and posts with arguments will be deleted. If you don’t agree with something, you are not required to comment.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE ANYTHING NICE TO SAY, PLEASE REFRAIN FROM COMMENTING. The purpose of this group is help each other feel more comfortable and prepared when we travel. Not all of us have the same level of travel experience so please be encouraging NOT discouraging with your responses. We are here to welcome new travelers and help them with their questions, no matter how simple this may seem to you.

9. Shaming and bullying of any kinds are not allowed. Shaming and bullying comes in many forms but ultimately, in this group with our topic, no one should ever be made feel embarrassed for how much money they do or don’t spend, the clothes they do or don’t want to wear, whether something is age or size appropriate, or how much they do or don’t want to pack. If you don’t agree with something or a product featured in a thread does not apply to you or your needs, you are not required to comment.

If you don’t have something nice to say please skip that thread and move on to the next. You are not required to respond to everything. If something makes you think, “What’s wrong with that person? I would NEVER do that.” or “I would NEVER wear that!” then it’s probably a good indicator that your input isn’t required (unless your response also includes constructive feedback). Cyber bullies will be removed IMMEDIATELY.

10. The Travel Fashion Girls group is a JUDGEMENT-FREE community. We have a ZERO tolerance policy for a lack of tolerance and consequently SHAMING of any kind is not allowed. This includes but is not limited to MONEY shaming, POLITICAL shaming, ENVIRONMENTAL shaming, AGE shaming, BODY SIZE shaming,  LUGGAGE shaming, etc.

For example, someone might feel comfortable spending $20 whereas another member might be comfortable spending $2000 or one traveler may prefer to take a carryon vs a checked bag. As another example, one woman might feel comfortable wearing a certain type of clothing while another doesn’t find that particular clothing item is suitable for their own body.  One is not right or wrong – they are just different and people should feel comfortable asking for help based on their own preferences in this group. If you do not agree with someone’s personal choices, you are NOT required to comment or acknowledge their post.

We are different and as a result: we have different preferences. You don’t have to agree with everything you read or see but you do have to RESPECT and ACCEPT the other members and the Travel Fashion Girl Team.

If you are not able to tolerate others and their differences (no matter how big or small), please leave this group immediately. Members that shame others will be removed and banned from the group without notice.

PLEASE REPORT THREADS OR COMMENTS THAT BREAK THE COMMUNITY GUIDELINES.

And above all, help others, be kind, and enjoy the community! We thank you in advance for following the group rules and helping us maintain a positive, helpful, and save online space.

(Your name will never be shared without your consent publicly.) Don’t post anything you do not want shared elsewhere.

We are dedicated to spending an extensive amount of time moderating the group for the benefit of all members. This is how we maintain a positive, welcoming environment for all.

With that being said, please also be considerate of the fact that we are only a small team, not a big company, and we are physically unable to be available 24 hours a day. Some posts may not be approved immediately particularly on weekends. Be mindful that we may not be in the same time zone as you. 

If our moderation efforts and group rules are not something you can appreciate, this group may not be the right community for you.
