Blondo Villa Waterproof Ankle Bootie are my fall/winter favorite! I wear them almost daily to the office…& when traveling around rainy European cities. Thanks for the recc!
I love using this site all the time. Short and long trips. With this site, I found my favorite waterproof boots. The Blondo Villa Waterproof Ankle Bootie. They are the best comfy and stylish pair ever. Thanks Alex! I’ve been following you since you started. So glad I found your blog and all.
Sketchers now has some amazing waterproof hikers with memory foam that are extremely comfortable for everyday wearing…first time out of the box with no break-in time needed! I’m debating between my navy blue Skethchers hikers or my black combat-style for a November trip to England.
Planning to fly to Dublin then take a 9 day bus trip with dinner at various hotels.
The tour starts MAY 5. And covers much of the Republic of Ireland.
.

I have foot problems and primarily wear Birkenstock’s. Would you recommend any of their boots for a wet Europe trip?
Hi Rachel, to get the best feedback for your question, I would highly recommend that you join our TFG facebook group and post your question about Birkenstock boots there: https://www.facebook.com/groups/travelfashiongirls/ Its a fabulous community of helpful female travelers that love to share their incredibly helpful advice and I am sure one of them would be able to help!
I purchased the Blonda Valli boots from Nordstrom last June. They quickly became one of my favorite pairs of boots to reach for, regardless of the temperature or weather. Note that they are not truly waterproof – if you walk through wet grass for any length of time as I did, your feet will get wet. Once you know this, however, adjustments can be made. After 10 months one of the lifts fell off and was lost, but Nordstrom’s return policy worked perfectly – returned the defective pair and picked up another one (on sale no less!) without a hassle. Win win!
Hi there, that is great to hear, thank you for sharing your review of your Blondo Valli boots with us. I am so pleased you had no problems with returning them to Nordstrom ?
Hi Alex,
Your blog is so helpful! I used your thailand list just recently. I’m really interested in a pair of blondo boots but al torn between the cognac or the black. Do you have any advice for versatility?
Thanks!
Hi Jessalynn, that is lovely of you, thank you! ❤️ Either or ? The cognac color offers a refreshing tone and a black ankle boot is classic and. timeless. Which color do you like best which would match the rest of your clothing?
The ugg simmens boot is sold out. Do you have a similar recommendation?
Hi Dannah, I am sorry about this. We are currently working to update all our articles to give you the best up to date advice and content. Many of our readers like the Teva De la vina Ankle Boot as an alternative to the Ugg Simmens boot: https://amzn.to/2J08yol Also have a look at this article for some alternative suggestions for leather boots: https://www.travelfashiongirl.com/best-travel-shoes-womens-leather-boots/ Hope this helps! ?
Nice information Alex.
Thanks Emma!
Hi! What are packing suggestions for a jaunt to “The Open” Golf Tournament, Wales and then Ireland in July? Also, any “mature” styles for late 50’s lady?
Thanks!
Hi Paige, take a look at these posts for tips on Ireland and Wales:

This is the only post I have that’s directed at a more mature traveler but I’m afraid it may not be the right age group you’re requesting: https://travelfashiongirl.com/fashion-for-women-over-60-shoes-for-older-women/
Just got back from UK on 5 weeks winter vacation. Best time of the year to be there! I survived in my Regatta Lady’s snow boot which I got for £24!! It went well with skinny pants, leggings and even some skirts!
Heading to Ireland this summer (late July). What shoes would you suggest? Do you really think boots will be necessary at that time of year? I’ve got my light-weight/water repellant trench coat so I’m ready for the rain. I’m most worried about being comfortable with all of the walking that we’re going to be doing.
These posts might help you make that decision 😉

Great footwear ideas!!
I don’t know why but I really don’t find the “duck” boots appealing at all, the stark contrast/difference between layers – which I suppose is what most people like, besides functionality – puts me off. Happily everyone can pick whatever they like these days 😀 I think I’ll be on the lookout for one of De La Vina’s low-style boots – they appear to be comfortable enough to walk around the city all day long, while looking way more mature and stylish than my usual sports shoes (I’m a comfort>>style kind of person, but it might be time to graduate a bit ;)). Thanks for the guide!
Hi Katarzyna 🙂 I’m glad you’ve found a style that is perfect for you!
