I love a challenge when I see one. When I (beyond late) caught wind of the Four Season’s Magazine #FSJET Round the World Tour I had to play travel stylist!
Writer and Travel Videographer Rachelle Lucas is traveling to 8 countries in just 22 days. Wow! With a whirlwind adventure like this one you need a fast and easy travel wardrobe that can mix and match easily for any situation.
How to Pack for a Round the World Trip: 8 Countries, 3 Weeks
Luckily for me, as far as I can tell, Rachelle is going to be traveling in relatively warm areas (with the exception of the UK) so it makes packing light that much easier. I’m not 100% sure of her destinations but as far as I can tell, she’s traveling to:
England – USA – Bora Bora – Australia – Indonesia – Thailand – India – Budapest – England
Too bad she’s not going the opposite direction – she’ll need a holiday on a tropical island after this tour is over.
Brace yourself for a Packing Trip Around the World: 8 Clothing Items and 22 Travel Outfits!
I’ve only covered the main aspects of packing with 8 clothing items to provide you with an array of travel outfits. Extra items to pack include a rain jacket and travel umbrella for possible rain storms; sweater or cardigan for the flights, cooler evenings, and the return to the UK.

I LOVE
Hi Rachelle,
Where did you find the brown pants, and what brand are they? I’m packing for nine months of travel, and your blog has been super helpful! Thank you!!
Brilliant! This is how I love to travel! (Added bonus: It makes for less decisions which = less time getting ready…more time seeing awesome stuff!!!)
It’s true and even if you have more clothing you almost always end up rewearing your few favorites anyway 🙂
What is the brand of the gold blouse and orange skirt? I see that other girls have asked about some clothing items. Would you consider adding brand information to your site? I love so many clothing items you show! Thanks!
Hi Tracey, here are the links to the shirt and skirt:

WOW… such a great combination of cloths we can wear according to the place I am loving it….
Thanks!
Love this! Very helpful as we are leaving for Paris Saturday. Can you tell me where the shorter black skirt is from? Would live to take a full, black skirt with me. Thanks so much!
Hi Jenn, sorry for the delay. I think I missed your trip already. I just took off traveling too 🙂 The skirt is from Givenchy found in colette.fr/ but it’s now sold out.
what is brand of the blue scarf?
Nicole Farhi – sold out but originally from here: cureuk.com
I love your site! Smart, practical, and GREAT ideas and tips!! My husband and I are about to take a month long honeymoon to Malaysia and Indonesia. The challenge I was having while packing was to make sure I had some modest outfits but packing a scarf will do the trick! Also, for great walking yet still stylish and comfortable, try Keen’s Toyah Mary Janes. You can wear them with skirts, shorts, pants, etc. This site proves that you can be practical while being stylish!! You rock!!
Thank you Maria 🙂 I’m glad you found the site helpful!
I cannot thank you enough, I just recently went on a 10 day vacation and used your Maximista list and ended up not using 2 items. This blog is just what I needed to pack less and enjoy a stylish wardrobe on vacay. Would you please do a cold weather packing list. We are planning a trip to Russia soon. I have no idea where to start.
That’s incredible, I’m glad it helped!
I’m working on a cold weather packing list to post soon 🙂
Thank you for reading!
I love your site Alex. My partner describes my personal style as “Chairman Mao” because I wear the same things all the time. But I’ve been finding your blog inspiring to maybe think about putting some effort in! The spreads of the pieces and outfits are amazing. I love them. They remind me of paper dolls.
Thank you so much, glad you like it!
Maybe you just need to accessorize and mix and match more. A colorful scarf really adds so much life to an outfit. I love my new orange one.
Sometimes I get bored with my clothes too and then get re-inspired with the mix and match sets 🙂
This is great! I actually have a lot of similar items in my list. Swapped the long skirt for cargo pants … I like the extra pockets to put things like lens caps and such when shooting video.
What’s that great saying when packing … take half the clothes and twice the money? 😉
Hi Rachelle
Glad you liked it! Super last minute but tried my best. Oh yes, the “cargo pants” pictured don’t have any pockets…oops!
Yes that’s such a true saying you always need less clothing but you can never have enough money
I hope you have an incredible time! I can’t wait to follow along 🙂
