In yesterday’s post I showed you my top three essential bra types for travel. In today’s post, let’s look at how many bras you should pack.
How Many Bras Should I Pack when I Travel?
Table Of Contents
If you’re wondering how many bras you should pack when you travel, consider a few different things:
How Many Times Should You Wear One Bra
Linda the “Bra Lady” tells us that it’s okay to wear a bra 2-3 times before washing it. Obviously, if you’re in a hot destination this may be a little less and if you’re in the cold it may be a bit more.
I don’t think it’s a secret that many women go way past these suggested guidelines so consider your own limits when packing. Also, check out this post on how to hand wash clothing when traveling.

What Types of Activities will you Do
If you have high impact activities you may need to wash your bras more often than if you’re just sightseeing. You might also want to consider packing a sports bra for active travel and if you plan to work out.
Sometimes, I prefer wearing a sports bra on long travel days because it’s nice to have a break from underwire and most importantly, because you never know what bumps you’ll experience on your mode of transportation.
TFG Recommends: if you plan any overland truck travel adventures, PACK A SPORTS BRA to hold you down tight.
What Clothing are you Wearing
Plan your bra selections after you’ve chosen your capsule wardrobe for travel. This way you know what colors and styles you need to pack.
To minimize the amount of bras you pack, choose versatile styles such as convertible, t-shirt, and basic colors. The single most versatile color is a nude tone (or the color closest to your skin tone). This lingerie line has a range of nude shades in deeper colors. You can wear nudes under everything even black for a clean look.

Packing Guidelines
I’d suggest packing an average of 3 bras for a trip of any destination based on your assessment of the above factors.
• WEEKEND TRAVEL: Depending on your activities, even a short trip might require various types of bras so pack what you need.
• 2 WEEK VACATION: Pack just enough so that you don’t have to wash on your trip (1 for every 3 or so days). If you don’t mind hand washing, pack less.
• LONG TERM TRAVEL: You’ll do laundry on a long trip anyway, so pack the suggested variety featured in this post.
When packing their bras, many of our readers like to designate one packing cube just for their bras and underwear!
