Medellin is considered one of, if not the, fashion capital of Colombia, the style is Latin inspired, think sexy and feminine, women aren’t afraid to show a little skin.
Due to Colombia’s location close to the equator, seasons are a little different, instead of the typical four season year, the year is categorized into either Dry (summer) or Wet (winter) periods.
The dry summer season is generally during the monthsof December, January, February and March, this is a great time to travel the country, the weather is pleasant and many summer festivals and fiestas are underway.
Medellin is situated in the Coffee region of Colombia; the weather is notoriously pleasant, often being described as ‘perfect’.

The city’s weather is famous for being spring-like all year round, during the summer season Medellin is hot during the day and cool at night, dress light and breezy for the glorious weather – however stay away from classic summer pieces such as shorts and flip flops, these are rarely seen on the streets of the city.
The dry season is a great time to experiment with bold hues, take inspiration from our Medellin fashion bloggers and add a pop of color to your outfit, opt for an eye-catching block color to fully embrace the trend or add a colorful statement piece, such as a jacket, shoes or bag to dip your toes.

Pack a selection of jeans and printed trousers; these will be your signature pieces during your trip. Pair the bottoms with neutral blouses, tanks and casual t’s for the perfect mix and match combo, include a selection of skirts and summer dresses for a more feminine look.
Don’t be afraid to show a little skin.The best advice when visiting Medellin in the summer is to layer, adding and removing clothing coincided with the heat. Don’t forget a light sweater or summer blazer for when the temperature drops.
Accessorize your outfits with a pair of chic sunnies, straw fedora hat and an oversized tote bag (perfect for some serious shopping trips).
Shoe wise think classic sandals or a pair of ballet flats, choose a bold hue to add a splash of color to your outfit. Medellin is a large city; ensure that whatever shoes you bring can withstand the large amount of exploring you’re sure to do.

Ensure you pack a good party outfit. Medellin women are inclined to dress up at night. Opt for a metallic or embellished cami and slim fitting cropped trousers to ensure you fit right in, add a blazer or cropped jacket for cooler evenings.
Medellin is a fashionable city, especially around the areas of Poblado and Tessoro; women regularly dress according to the current trends, pick up a local fashion magazine on your travels or check out the style blogs featured for some serious style inspiration.
