Wraps for Travel: Styling & Packing Tips
A great travel wrap isn’t just for staying warm — it’s one of the most versatile pieces you can bring on the road. Whether you’re going for a beach escape, a city break, or a multi-climate itinerary, wraps offer endless styling potential and pack like a dream.
How to Style Travel Wraps:
- On the Plane: Drape a cozy cashmere travel wrap around your shoulders or roll it into a soft neck pillow.
- At the Beach: Use a lightweight travel wrap shawl or sun-protective option as a sarong, headscarf, or cover-up.
- In the City: Belt an oversized wrap over a dress or tee for an elevated, layered look.
- Evening Out: Choose a neutral or dark-toned wrap to layer over a sleeveless dress for dinner or drinks — chic and warm!
Packing Tips:
- Roll It Tight: Most wraps can be rolled or folded flat — perfect for sliding into a packing cube or carry-on pouch.
- Go Neutral for Flexibility: Opt for classic shades (black, camel, navy, ivory) that pair well with your other pieces.
- Use It as a Travel Blanket: On overnight flights or chilly buses, a large wrap doubles as a warm and cozy airport blanket.
- Wear It to Save Space: If you’re tight on luggage room, wear your wrap on the plane — it’s a stylish layer and frees up space in your bag.
A good wrap isn’t just another travel accessory — it’s an outfit extender, a sun protector, and a built-in comfort tool all in one.

Love this! Blanket scarves and turkish towels can be used in similar ways – use them as scarves, blankets and even a pillow or lumbar support in a pinch. The turkish towel can obviously be used as a towel as well. Very versatile and help keep packing to a minimum!
My children gave me a black J Crew travel cashmere wrap for Mother’s Day. I am trying to decide if I should bring that or a black cashmere cardigan that I also have on a trip to Europe this December. Your thoughts?
